Cinnamon and sugar whole wheat donuts. (Use whole wheat pastry flour---it's lighter than regular whole wheat flour).
Whole wheat chocolate donuts with a dark and white chocolate drizzle.

It's been too long since I posted. I'm crazy-busy with TWO baby girls! You can read more about that here.

But on to diabetes-related adventures....

For Christmas, I got a donut baking pan!!! For anyone out there who loves donuts, you must get a set of these for yourself. You can control the ingredients and flavors and stop worrying about the grease, fat, and sugar that is laden in traditional donuts. Here are a few pics of my creations. Aren't they fab?

My sugars, well, I struggle monthly with my sugars the week before my period. They skyrocket. It's very frustrating. I've created multiple basal patterns (on my pump) to deal with this pending time week in my life, but it hasn't solved the problem. I tried taking more Symlin (I only take it in the morning, but attempted it at lunch and dinner) only to have all the side effects (dizziness and nausea are the worst!) consume me....so I gave up on that. SHRUG. Diabetes is a real pain.
I'm doing the best I can with what I've got---and I don't stress too much about not being the perfect diabetic. Because I know that being perfect is impossible. I gotta live my life, you know?
